take out-fake out

So, is everyone turkey-ed out? Is everyone tired of standing in the kitchen? Need a break from cooking? Cleaning? Entertaining? Can you give yourself a break now?

I have the place for you.

Meemah’s Chinese and Malaysian Cuisine in Edison, NJ. This isn’t your typical take out cuisine. So, don’t be fooled by “take out”. It’s well prepared with quality products.

My favorite dish is the chicken in garlic sauce.

chicken in garlic sauce

What makes this so different than any other chicken in garlic sauce? Well, you see, it would have the be the flavor, the ratio of vegetables, and how the chicken is prepared. As far as flavor, this dish is slightly spicy and garlic-y. It isn’t too overpowering and the sauce isn’t too heavy.

As you can see in the picture above, there are huge pieces of broccoli (which is my favorite part of Chinese food), julienne carrots, and slices of pepper. Each bite leaves you with the flavor of the sauce and also the crunch of the vegetables.

Lastly, and most important to note in this dish is how the chicken is cut into small strips. Many Chinese places do not prepare their chicken this way and I believe that THIS is the way to go. If you want a huge bite of chicken, just pick up a few strips on your fork. If you want chicken and vegetables, you can fit both on your fork! Neither one overpowers the other, so it’s the perfect ratio of flavors and texture: crunchy, savory, sweet, tender, and spicy.

So, give yourself a break. Don’t be fooled by “take out”. It’s s delicious and quality meal that I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

And now I’m hungry,
